Mika Football

Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 October 2026

In short: there is no account and we never ask for your name, email or phone number to use the app. Your favourites stay on your phone. Adverts are provided by Google AdMob and app analytics by Google Analytics for Firebase, and both follow your consent choices. If you turn on alerts, we store a notification token and the teams you follow so we can send them.

This policy explains how Mika Football ("we", "us") handles information when you use the Mika Football mobile app (the "App") and this website (together, the "Service"). If you have questions, contact us at support@mikafootball.buzz.

Information we collect

Information stored only on your device

The clubs and competitions you follow, your alert choices, your display settings (such as light or dark mode) and your in-app coins are saved in the App's storage on your device. Coins are not linked to any account, so they are lost if you delete the App or clear its data. They are not sent to us, except for the alert details described below.

Notification details

If you allow notifications, your device gives the App a push token (a random identifier that lets a message reach your device). The App sends us this token, your device platform (iOS or Android) and the teams and competitions you have chosen to receive alerts for. We use them only to send the alerts you asked for, such as kick-off and goal alerts, and occasional news about the App. Push messages are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging, a Google service that processes the token on our behalf. The App also subscribes the token to general topics (for example, all users) so that we can send messages to everyone. You can turn alerts off at any time in the App or in your device settings; the token is then no longer used, and it becomes invalid when you uninstall the App.

Information sent automatically when the App or website loads data

Like any online service, our servers receive technical information with each request: your IP address, the device or browser type (user agent), the date and time, and the page or data requested. We use it to deliver content, to keep the Service secure and working, to count usage in aggregate, and to work out your approximate country so that we can apply regional availability of some features. Raw server logs are kept for up to 14 days and then deleted. Usage statistics that we keep for longer are aggregated counts and do not identify you.

Advertising

The App shows adverts provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, Google and its partners may collect information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location, device information and how you interact with ads.

Google's use of this information is described in its privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy, and how Google uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

App analytics

If you agree to it in the consent prompt, the App uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the App is used: which screens are opened, how long sessions last, crashes and similar events, together with device information and an app-instance identifier. We use this in aggregate, to fix problems and improve the App. If you don't give consent, analytics collection stays switched off.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to answer you and keep it only as long as needed for that.

What we don't do

Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, and only for that purpose:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety or security of our users, the public or the Service.

Third-party content

The App shows football data from a licensed provider and may link to or display content from third parties, such as news articles and videos. When you open that content, the third party's own terms and privacy policy apply.

Children

The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, or under US state laws such as the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict its use, and to data portability. Because we don't use accounts, most of what we hold is the notification details described above. You can remove them yourself by turning off alerts or uninstalling the App, or ask us to delete them by writing to support@mikafootball.buzz. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

Information travels between the App and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to our systems is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the information we hold.

International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, they use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will give notice in the App.
